Revlon Maintenance Mechanic in Salem, Virginia

POSITION OVERVIEW

Individual must be competent, knowledgeable, and have had three years or more of electrical/electronic technical training, and general industrial mechanical maintenance experience. Job includes the installation and all aspects of equipment maintenance in a light manufacturing and distribution logistics warehouse, and the warehouse facility.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures under the lead of a more senior technician by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observing and documenting signs of wear and tear; and documenting preventive maintenance activities.

  • Performs minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures under the lead of a more senior technician by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment); inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment; providing prompt response to emergency calls; and documenting repair activities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Three years or more experience in general Industrial Maintenance.

  • Requires skills and experience in all these Industrial Maintenance areas: Electrical Systems, Electronic Controls, Mechanical Drives/Systems, Conveyor Systems, Pneumatics/Hydraulics, Electrical and Mechanical Building Utilities.

  • Requires plumbing and carpentry experience.

  • Forklift and warehouse equipment experience.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Receive training in 40CFR 262.17 and 40CFR 273.16.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Support existing equipment and perform preventative maintenance, problem diagnostics, and repairs. Conduct repairs on the facility utilities and all material handling systems as directed. Know when and if a more experienced Mechanic needs to be involved to speed up any repair.

  • Support new equipment installations.

  • Should be an initiative-taker and work Safely and Efficiently with minimal supervision, while accepting direction from a more skilled Mechanic or Maintenance Lead.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to work with a full range of hand and power tools. Must be able to lift/carry/move 50 lbs.

  • Ability to read, understand, and explain; electrical/electronic schematics, drawings and manuals for mechanical drive and pneumatic systems, and building blueprints. Have skill sets to use a multi-meter as a diagnostic trouble shooting and testing tool, for any machine maintenance function.

  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment: Forklift, Order Pickers, Man Lift, etc.

  • Once trained, use NetFacilities for work order tracking, record keeping, and spare parts control.

  • Desire and initiative to improve and expand all mechanical, electrical/electronic, and problem diagnostic skills sets. Pursue further formal and certified training to advance in the Maintenance Mechanic field.

  • Display excellent communication skills between all other employees, and when called upon, as a representative of the company to outside business contacts.

  • Follow cGMP (Continuous Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.

  • May encounter or use hazardous chemicals with training as required.

  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • 5 years manufacturing and/or distribution experience
