Dishwasher

Job Summary:

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and dining areas by washing dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and ensuring a clean environment. The Dishwasher also assists kitchen staff by keeping the dishwashing area organized and stocked with clean tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dishwashing : Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using a dishwasher or by hand as needed.
• Cleaning and Sanitation : Maintain cleanliness of the dish area, floors, and kitchen workspaces by sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces.
• Waste Management : Properly dispose of garbage and recycling materials, ensuring cleanliness in waste areas.
• Restocking : Assist in restocking clean plates, glasses, silverware, and other necessary items for kitchen and dining use.
• Equipment Maintenance : Operate, maintain, and ensure the cleanliness of dishwashing equipment according to safety and health regulations.
• Team Assistance : Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and any additional duties as needed to maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
• Compliance : Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• Physical Ability : Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
• Work Ethic : Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and a willingness to take direction.
• Teamwork : Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience : Previous experience as a dishwasher or in food service is preferred but not required.
• Availability : Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Exposure to hot water, dishwashing detergents, and various kitchen equipment.
• May involve lifting heavy items and operating dishwashing machinery.
