Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Forensic Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. This role involves reporting to the Senior Fire Protection Project Manager and working closely with our Senior Fire Protection Engineer. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for conducting loss investigations where a fire protection system, fire spread, or fire code issues are involved. The role demands a thorough examination of available evidence to determine the cause of a fire protection system failure, possibly the cause and origin of a fire, and factors contributing to the spread of fire. Additionally, you will be required to evaluate the performance of fire protection systems during a fire event. The ability to develop opinions and conclusions based on NFPA 921, the Scientific Method, engineering principles, and sound engineering judgment backed by appropriate experience is crucial.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Work Environment

Our offices are located in the metro area and there are 2 offices. We are a fully in-office company and the expectation is to be on-site 5 days a week unless the role offers remote flexibility. This position does offer flexibility as travel is required and it involves more independent work, including assessing sites and writing documentation. The recruitment process includes a 2-3 round interview, which includes a phone screen with HR, a virtual meeting with department managers, and a final in-person tour. An offer will be extended shortly after the final stage.
