Description Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is one of the most innovative public media organizations in the country. TPT presents extraordinary PBS programming and also produces award-winning content for the national PBS system. POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Marketing Strategy, the Education Marketing Specialist is a 2-year grant supported position funded by the Department of Education's "Ready to Learn" grant program. It will lead the marketing and communications strategy for TPT's newest animated series, "Skillsville," which includes a suite of 11-minute episodes for broadcast and streaming, digital games, and resources that encourage and empower kids to explore a range of careers that make their communities better. This role will serve as a primary marketing liaison with internal and external partners, create launch and sustainment strategies, and develop digital and social media channels that will introduce "Skillsville" to a national audience of kids and families. Hiring Salary: $70,000 - $82,000 annually (depending on qualifications)Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: MARKETING STRATEGY AND EXECUTION (75% of time) Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies aimed at driving awareness and excitement around the launch of "Skillsville" in Spring 2025, as well as sustaining engagement past the premiere to reach target audiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and align "Skillsville" marketing initiatives to the goals of the project. Utilize data analytics tools to gather insights, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Develop reporting process for key stakeholders involved in the project. Identify and launch key "Skillsville" digital and social media channels and spearhead social media content strategy and audience growth plans. Also responsible for executing all facets of social media platform management. Manage internal and external efforts to build a comprehensive campaign strategy to drive awareness and engagement with "Skillsville." Manage content calendar and ensure timely delivery of content aligned with marketing objectives. Develop marketing materials and assets as needed. PROJECT, BUDGET AND TASK MANAGEMENT (25% of time) Lead all "Skillsville" marketing projects, steering them from conception to delivery, meticulously planning, scheduling, and monitoring budgets. Develop and manage robust timelines and workstreams while keeping cross-functional stakeholders informed and accountable. Serve as the lead marketing contact with external and internal partners and ensure timely execution of contractual obligations. Manage the "Skillsville" marketing budget that may include outside agency fees and advertising and events costs. QUALIFICATIONS Required Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field or equivalent credentials. 5-10 years previous multiplatform marketing experience, ideally in the children's media and/or education industry. 2-3 years of prior experience managing agency relationships in a dynamic marketing environment. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Experience creating and executing performance-driven marketing strategies, campaigns and tactics. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience with project management software (Robohead, Airtable, Asana, Basecamp, etc.). Expert-level experience with social media strategy and execution, including paid campaigns. Experience developing robust, audience-driven advertising plans. Experience managing complex budgets, timelines and workflows. Familiar with website content management systems (Wordpress preferred). Familiar with social media management platforms like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc. Experience in creating graphics and/or video with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Attention to detail. Ability to comfortably work with financial reports and perform analysis. Collaboration and relationship-building skills across a wide range of groups, functions, and leadership levels. Ability to solve problems with multiple stakeholders. Project management skills using team processes and project management software. Ability to embrace constructive feedback and utilize that feedback to improve work. Initiative and resourcefulness to solve problems, challenges and to discover new opportunities. Positive "can do" attitude. Growth mindset towards challenges and new opportunities.
