Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Saint Paul, Minnesota
Description
We are looking for a proficient Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. You will be working in the Service industry, focusing on managing vendor and contractor expectations and ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Review and process invoices with precision and timeliness, ensuring appropriate documentation and approval is in place prior to payment.
• Allocate expenses to various accounts and cost centers by comprehensively analyzing invoice and expense reports, further recording these entries.
• Distinguish between invoices with a Purchase Order (PO) and those without, processing each accordingly.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail and prioritize invoices according to payment terms.
• Prepare month-end accruals for invoices that are unprocessed or waiting for approvals.
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring excellent communication.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct any discrepancies that may arise.
• Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in compliance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge in handling sales tax related tasks
• Understanding of purchase orders management and processing
