POSITION OVERVIEW The VP of Programmatic Compliance, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer helps to build and maintain internal control infrastructure, review new grant opportunities, support applications and oversee and facilitate grant management and compliance for the project portfolio from grant award through closeout. RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE Coordinate tracking of relevant Federal and State grant opportunities for future grant applications. Support project teams in the development and submission of new grant applications. Assist with management of ARPA and other grant-related audits (e.g., locating and preparing files and responding to requests for information). Support project teams during the planning and implementation of state and federally-funded capital projects. Advise project managers regarding grant requirements and critical deadlines. Coordinate the timely submission of required documents to grantors. Review and approve grant-related payment requests and change orders, track payments, and manage grant closeout. Provide topic-specific resources and expertise for the Compliance Department regarding internal controls. Represent SLDC during regular communications with city, state, and federal agencies. Coordinate with other members of the Compliance department to upgrade and implement record management systems. Track and document compliance with specific grant compliance requirements. WHAT QUALIFIES YOU The ideal candidate for this position would likely have extensive experience in grant management and regulatory compliance, ideally in the context of economic development or related fields such as business or government. They would also have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Bachelors degree or equivalent required. Masters degree, J.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred. 3-5 years of experience in grants management/compliance, nonprofit administration, or a government-related field. Knowledge of federal grant audits, budgeting, and public procurement is preferred. Experience reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing legal and/or contractual documents is required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong skills in Word, Excel, and OneDrive/SharePoint. Da abase management experience helpful. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Critical thinker with the ability to define problems and identify and execute timely solutions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This a full-time, exempt position with health benefits and paid-time-off. While our traditional work hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, SLDC provides a flexible/hybrid work environment of both onsite and offsite work and follows a customized work schedule of 40-hours per week for full-time employees. Evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.
