Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Granite City, IL
Job Description
The individual is responsible for performing complete system engineering for industrial automation projects. This includes component selection and sizing. The candidate should possess knowledge of motor drives, PLCs, automation equipment, machine safety, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities
Perform complete system engineering for industrial automation projects.
Select and size components for automation systems.
Program and troubleshoot PLCs and automation equipment.
Design control panels and ensure safety system designs, including schematics and panel layouts.
Support projects from start to completion with client interaction and support.
Essential Skills
8+ years of experience in industrial controls system applications with PLC, HMI, and industrial automation systems.
8 years of related experience in electrical design and safety system designs.
Proficient in control systems applications from project inception to completion.
Experience in control panel design.
Proficiency in PLC programming, Allen-Bradley, troubleshooting, programming, and panel design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in fluid design with pneumatic and hydraulic schematics systems.
Knowledge of schematic, PLC troubleshooting, control systems, and ladder logic.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Must be available and willing to work overtime occasionally to meet customer project commitments.
Willing to travel occasionally (20% or less) to work on customer sites.
Work Environment
The position is primarily office-based with occasional overtime needed to meet customer commitments. The individual must be willing to be on the floor while teams build equipment to provide support. Standard working hours are 8-5, Monday to Friday. Travel is around 20%, typically for 3-5 days at a time, to support project implementation and end-user support.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $60.00/hr.
