The Jacobs Buildings & Infrastructure Group in St. Louis is seeking a creative, highly motivated entry level Civil Engineer to join our Highway/Civil department. The Buildings & Infrastructure Line of Business is a global network of employees, which serves both the private and public sector. Our office is comprised of a comprehensive group of professionals who are industry leaders with the ability to work on a variety of projects. Project types range from large design/build infrastructure projects to traditional projects within the government and commercial sector. Initially, the candidate will assist with providing solutions and delivering projects for Clients while growing their technical skillset. An outward focus is required to help grow the Jacobs brand, participate in professional organizations and assist with proposal development. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Highway design including horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, drainage, traffic signals, three-dimensional modeling, cross sections, quantities, and cost estimates.

  • Construction inspection of local transportation projects.

  • Preparation of associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.

  • Working with design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.

  • Conduct criteria research, write non-standard specifications, and assist with permitting.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering.

  • Previous internship experience preferred.

  • EIT is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD and Microsoft office.

  • Experience with Open Roads Designer, Geopak, InRoads, and / or Civil 3D is a plus.

  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
