Job Summary
Under general direction, the Billing Audit Analyst performs regular billing compliance audits to ensure compliance with government and third-party payer requirements. Validates hospital/physician billing invoices, distributes them to appropriate departments for payment, and follows up on payment statuses in Workday. Manages the encounter ticket process and verifies entries in the Clinical Trials Management System. Ensures research data integrity across various systems/databases.
Open to a remote employee in any of the following states if not living in the Greater St. Louis area: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia or Wisconsin.
Job Duties
Performs billing compliance audits, including reviewing coverage analyses and actual billing statements for congruence as well as ensuring appropriate capture of physician and hospital services.
Validates hospital/physician invoices and distributes them to individual departments. Performs periodic aging reports and follows up to address payment processing delays.
Manages the encounter ticket process and verifies entries in the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of regulations and guidelines related to clinical research
Working knowledge of clinical research terminology and multiple medical conditions
Working knowledge of Medicare/Medical billing/coding processes and understanding of Medical and Research billing and coding utilizing CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS
Knowledge of EPIC
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent time management, organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Salary/Benefits
Salary range$46,720 to $70,080, pay will be determined based on amount of relevant experience.This position also includes benefitsincluding vacation and sick leave,health/dental/vision/lifeinsurance, 403B retirement savings plan and match, tuition remission, employee assistance program and wellness program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, supplemented with two (2) years of related work experience or one-year medical billing, clinical trial billing or health insurance experience.

Associate degree, supplemented with four (4) years of related work experience or
High School Diploma, supplemented with seven (7) + years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Coding Specialist certification
