Cooke Aquaculture IT Technology Business Analyst in Saint John, New Brunswick

As a Technology Business Management Analyst, you will analyze and report on the financial performance of IT operations within the department. In this role, you will use your knowledge of ITBM tools and methodologies to bridge the gap between IT and business objectives. You will also assist IT leaders in making smart and strategic decisions about IT investments, projects, and resources. Your insights and analysis will enable informed decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and improve overall IT performance to align with organizational goals.

The Role

As a Technology Business Management Analyst, you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze IT financial models, including budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation models to support decision-making and strategic planning

  • Provide guidance and support to IT leaders in managing their budgets and resources effectively

  • Lead the development and implementation of IT financial and operational reporting processes and systems

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for IT cost reduction/savings

  • Conduct cost analysis and ROI assessments for IT investments, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and resource efficiency

  • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to manage vendor contracts, negotiate pricing, and optimize vendor relationships

  • Provide insights and recommendations on financial performance, variance analysis, and investment prioritization to senior leadership

  • Implement and maintain financial management best practices and processes, including cost allocation methodologies and chargeback mechanisms

    Qualifications

    To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related industry experience

  • 3-5 years of experience as an IT Technology Business Management Analyst or in a related position

  • Strong critical thinking skills, paired with analytical, financial, and business acumen

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with IT and business stakeholders

  • Experience in financial analysis, IT management, and business process improvement is also essential

  • Experience working with financial and operational reporting tools and systems, such as ERP or Business Intelligence platforms
