Saint Francis Indian School First Grade Elementary Teacher in Saint Francis, South Dakota
Create daily lesson plans and learning activities for 1st grade students based on standards in Math, Science, ELA, Reading, Writing and Social Science (elementary subjects).
Deliver high-quality, engaging elementary subjects instruction in the form of discussion, direct teaching, demonstrations, and independent practice using a variety of proven methods.
Establish 1^st^ grade classroom, and discipline rules/procedures and regulations and ensuring that all students understand what is expected of them.
Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by modeling expected behavior and standards, promoting positive interactions and quickly addressing behaviors that are not in line with the school discipline plan.
Provide extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.
Grade 1^st^ grade student papers on math, science, ELA, reading, writing, and social science tests, updating records, and handling various administrative tasks.
Evaluate student performance on tasks established by the standards using different methods such as observation, performance-based tasks or other standard test practices.
Communicate with parents regarding student progress, potential and behavior periodically through phone or electronic means and at parent and teacher conferences. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education is required. South Dakota Educator Certificate - Elementary Preparation and Endorsement in Self-Contained K-4th Grade is required.
