[St. Charles County is seeking to hire several individuals to serve as back-up personnel within the St. Charles County Department of Corrections adult detention facility. Successful candidates will be available for work either in a scheduled or on-call capacity. Schedules will be on an as-needed basis and will vary depending on the needs of the facility with no guarantee of hours. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 4 shifts of 4 hours in any given 28-day period [any shift or day assigned] including weekends and holidays. These are part-time/intermittent positions with no benefits provided.

- Operates as a Correctional Officer in a limited capacity
- Primary duties are as a Control Unit Operator
- Assists in the observation and supervision of inmate activities
- Observes, records, and provides written records of activity in housing units
- Answers phones, maintains logs, and documents incidents
- Assists with organizing and securing property received or released by inmates
- Performs other related duties as assigned
