INTERMITTENT SPECIALIST
* ST. CHARLES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS STARTING SALARY: $17.88 per hour *
JOB OVERVIEW:St. Charles County is seeking to hire several individuals to serve as backup personnel within the St. Charles County Department of Corrections adult detention facility. Successful candidates will be available for work either in a scheduled or on-call capacity. Schedules will be on an as-needed basis and will vary depending on the needs of the facility with no guarantee of hours. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 4 shifts of 4 hours in any given 28-day period [any shift or day assigned], including weekends and holidays. These are part-time/intermittent positions with no benefits provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates as a Correctional Officer in a limited capacity
- Primary duties are as a Control Unit Operator
- Assists in the observation and supervision of inmate activities
- Observes, records, and provides written records of activity in housing units
- Answers phones, maintains logs, and documents incidents
- Assists with organizing and securing property received or released by inmates
- Performs other related duties as assigned
