SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
Under ongoing supervision, the Fitter-Welder fits elbows and welds, cleans and grinds fabricated products. Lays out, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms while meeting all quality and safety standards. May assist in coordinating activities of welders for special welding techniques and/or procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fits elbow and attachment using torch and tack welding
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
- Cuts products with torch and other tools.
- Gouges welds.
- Grinds welds and fabricated pieces
- Welds product according to plans and specifications
- Completes proper documentation.
- Moves pipe with overhead crane.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the departmental housekeeping and safety efforts and works collaboratively with other members of the department and production counterparts to ensure production workflow.
WORK HOURS / SHIFT
- Work hours vary or change from eight to twelve hours shifts based on operational needs.
- Must be able to work on Saturdays and overtime as required.
