CMU MEDICAL EDUCATION PARTNERS Behavioral Health TMS Technician in SAGINAW, Michigan

OVERVIEW:

The TMS Technician will facilitate treatment sessions for individuals who are suffering from MDD, OCD, and other mental illness. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive, non-systemic treatment for major depression and OCD. Technicians are responsible for administering the treatment, working alongside clients as they recover from their mental illness, and helping to track the client's progress.  The TMS Technician will be certified to deliver TMS Therapy under the supervision of a medical provider.  Will perform routine clinical and clerical functions to assist providers and patients in the delivery of TMS services.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivers TMS Therapy to patients under the supervision of a medical provider.  
  • Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for daily treatment sessions. 
  • Supports office administrative tasks such as managing patient leads, reports statistical activity to the clinical team, schedules appointments, collects copays, and handles all medical records in compliance with HIPAA. 
  • Serves as a member of the Clinical Team and participates in all team meetings and activities. 
  • Obtains and completes required documentation for insurance preauthorization and/or reimbursement. 
  • Delivers exceptional customer service consistently to every patient. 
  • Assumes other related responsibilities as assigned by management. 
  • Prepares patients for treatment by escorting them from the reception area to the treatment room. 
  • Verifies and documents purpose of visit, vital signs, allergies, medication history, and patient instructions according to current CMU Health standards. 
  • Provides educational consultations to interested patients. 
  • Performs routine communication with the patient to ensure adherence to the treatment plan.   
  • Prepares, cleans and maintains treatment room according to proper infection control standards. 
  • Assists with clinic flow to ensure efficiency.  Seeks out other tasks to assist with patient flow. 
  • Orders, stocks and prepares clinical supplies and equipment as assigned. 
  • Performs quality controls according to established procedures.   
  • Reviews after visit summary instructions with patients prior to check-out. 
  • Assists with quality improvement projects as requested. 
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.  

QUALIFICATION:

  • Education:  High School Diploma or GED and Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program which reflects the training outlined for basic competence by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or extensive relevant experience.
  • Licensure:  Certified preferred  
  • Experience:  At least one year Ambulatory/Office experience.   
  • Aptitude:  Understanding and appreciation of the medical education/academic process with an intrinsic desire to enhance said process through direct educational involvement and support. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that encourage harmonious working relationships with individuals in the health and educational settings. 
  • Associates degree as a Medical Assistant preferred. 
  • Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.  
  • Registered as a Medical Assistant preferred.
