CBRE is seeking an Associate Project Manager to provide administrative support for Project Managers running renovation projects for a large financial client in the New York City area.
About the role
As a CBRE Associate Project Manager, you will support the project management team on corporate office renovation and retail bank branch projects within the New York City and Northern New Jersey markets for a dedicated financial services client.
This is a hybrid role that will require the ability to report to one of the offices in Princeton, Linden, or New York City a minimum of three times per month for team meetings.
This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.
What you’ll do
Support Project Management team to manage all facets of project management responsible for portfolio management and project execution for a dedicated Life Sciences client. This includes planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
Implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements. Ensure project data integrity and documentation are accurate, timely, and coordinated.
Track the progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Crafts action plans to meet objectives, budget, and schedule.
Prepare standard project status reports for project delivery team or work group, client, and management. Reports typically include status updates, budget, schedule, and risk.
May enter and update project information data (i.e. project status updates, schedule updates, cash flow forecasts) and project documentation into project management technology tools (software applications, web-based tools, job cost accounting tools).
Process documentation for project commitments (i.e., Agreements, Contracts, Work Authorizations, Purchase Orders).
May prepare and review invoices and pay applications for processing following compliance requirements as per established governance of clients.
Assist with project administration deliverables (i.e. meeting minutes; budget tracking; schedule updates; move management; closeout).
May manage smaller projects as assigned. May manage third-party project delivery resources/team (typically smaller team) and be responsible for tracking performance and motivating team members.
Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Associate's Degree (AA/AS) or equivalent required. Bachelor's preferred. Minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience and/or training.
General knowledge of leases, contracts, and construction practices and the ability to read architectural drawings. Prior project management experience and/or experience within the AEC industries is preferred.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret various types of business documents. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles in a pre-designed style and format.
Ability to effectively respond to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisors, and/or management.
Ability to present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide efficient, timely, and courteous service to customers.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Working understanding in MS Project and Webex is helpful.
Ability to report to one of the client's offices in Linden, NJ or Princeton, NJ or New York, NY a minimum of 3 to 4 times per month depending on client requirements.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Associate Project Manager position is $70,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Associate Project Manager position is $85,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
