Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Water group in either Roseville or Sacramento. This position offers the right candidate the ability to make a major career advancement with one of the top engineering consulting firms in the world. The role involves project management, client management, business development, and project delivery of water, wastewater, and/or stormwater infrastructure projects including pipeline, pump station, and lift station design and construction. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead a team to undertake the design of water, wastewater, and/or stormwater conveyance infrastructure (e.g., pipelines, pump stations, lift stations).

  • Develop and prepare technical memorandums / reports, planning studies, specifications, detailed design drawings, and construction submittal reviews calculations, models and other technical deliverables for civil/utility, conveyance, treatment, and infrastructure related projects.

  • Complete hydraulic models and service area studies or master plans.

  • Consult with clients and subconsultants.

  • Ensure that the project’s/client’s needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • Provide construction contract administration and site inspection services.

  • Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.

  • Assist with business development pursuits, including preparation of proposals and interviews.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A well-developed understanding of design concepts relevant to water infrastructure design that incorporate civil/mechanical design elements associated with process piping systems, linear infrastructure, yard piping, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.

  • Strong project management and/or design management skills.

  • Strong commitment to the engineering profession and willingness to promote our profession through community outreach and service.

  • Desire to learn and grow in your career.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

  • 8 to 15 years of consulting experience, primarily in municipal infrastructure, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in project management of civil/municipal infrastructure projects (conveyance of water, storm, and wastewater).

  • California Professional Engineer Registration.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • CA Other Areas $108,000 - CA Other Areas $162,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
