Sutter Health Compensation Analyst II in Sacramento, California

Position Overview:

Functions as an experienced professional, providing strategic, analytical and/or technical support in developing, implementing and/or administering compensation programs, ensuring practices and programs are market competitive, comply with plan design and applicable laws and regulations. Performs a variety of data and job analyses, identifies trends and business impacts, and recommends proactive actions/solutions/changes. Prepares for salary planning and labor contract negotiations, analyzing and evaluating internal and external data, and making sound recommendations.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's: Human Resources, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration or related field or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

2 years experience with a progressive responsibility in developing, implementing and/or administering compensation programs.

2 years experience with evaluating job descriptions using quantitative or non-quantitative methods.

2 years experience with completing compensation surveys.

2 years experience with MarketPay or similar online market data resources.

2 years experience with HR information systems.

2 years experience using Excel or similar spreadsheet applications, manipulating data, making format changes, and creating basic functions/formulas and pivot tables.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of compensation terminology and labor market trends.

Knowledge of FLSA, and applicable wage and hour laws and regulations.

Ability to understand the strategic and business needs of the system, operating unit and affiliate.

Ability to compute and apply basic mathematical and statistical calculations.

Ability to communicate through verbal and written means.

Organization skills and attention to details.

Critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyze trends/issues and to recommend solid solutions.

Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.

Demonstrates ability to influence others by persuasion, problem solving or using data.

Ability to prioritize workload to complete assignments accurately and timely.

Ability to establish credibility, and to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

Pay Range is $42.98 to $64.47 / hour. Texas Pay Range is $38.69 to $58.03 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
