Robert Half Contracts Finance & Accounting Team is seeking an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join a great company in South Sacramento! This position is 100% on site and would report directly into the Controller. This job is 75% Accounts Payable processing and 25% payroll processing.

Job duties would include:

Manage the process of receiving and verifying invoices, distributing them to the appropriate internal parties for approval, and posting the invoices to the accounting system.

• Reconcile processed invoices by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

• Accurately enter invoices for payment in a timely manner.

Prepare and issue checks for signatures and verify all checks against register for accuracy.

Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. Complete monthly reconciliations of credit cards, fuel, health insurance, workers compensation, HSA, life insurance, bank balances and statements, and other areas, as assigned.

Create new vendor files and maintain vendor files and W-9s.

• Generate and administer 1099s.

Analyze AP aging reports and research any discrepancies.

Assist with recording transactions to the general ledger, audits, and preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.

• Process bi-weekly payroll for up to 90 employees.

• Gather employees time sheets and verify the accuracy of work hours and job costing/tasks codes.

Enter and process paperwork for new hires in the payroll system.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.

• Update payroll records based on changes to employee information, such as job title, exemptions, and/or deductions.

• Update employee benefits, such as health, dental, vision, etc.

• Review quarterly and year-end payroll reporting for accuracy.

Review W-2 and 1095 forms for accuracy.

The ideal candidate would

have Excellent computer skills. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software products, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, including the ability to create pivot tables and write with formulas in spreadsheet software. Have significant experience using accounting software.

Ability to use a variety of office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, telephones,10-key calculators, and paper shredder. Experience in the construction/property management industry preferred.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential.

• Must have experience with Ceridian and Concur.

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a must.

• Must be able to handle Accounting Functions efficiently.

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Auditing skills are required.

• Must be capable of handling Billing Functions effectively.

• Proficiency in Sage 300 is essential.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy are essential.

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information is required.

• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
