We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Sacramento, California. This role is vital to the organization, responsible for managing daily accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll processing. As the Accounting Manager/Supervisor, you will also oversee and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing timelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial matters. Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting functions, including but not limited to General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll processing.

• Direct the preparation of monthly closing entries, and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing timelines.

• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.

• Maintain compliance with financial policy and procedures, providing training and direction to the accounting, budgeting, tax, and audit functions.

• Prepare labor allocations in accordance with grant budgets, and oversee entry in the accounting system.

• Oversee the verification, processing, and reconciliation of loan activities in coordination with the microenterprise loan team.

• Prepare and analyze external grant reporting for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

• Manage the process for external financial monitoring, financial reviews, annual audits, and annual tax form preparation.

• Ensure the accuracy of information posted to the accounting system, identify financial compliance issues, and recommend solutions.

Requirements

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting sector

• Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting software

• Knowledge of Fund Accounting, particularly within the Non-Profit sector

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses

• High level of proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
