First Atlantic Health Care Cook in Saco, Maine

Seal Rock Healthcare, part of the Atlantic Heights Community, is a fully-licensed Medicaid/Medicare-certified facility offering 105 beds. Our Maintenance Team at Seal Rock supports our entire Atlantic Heights Community which includes The Inn, an 80 apartment assisted living and The Cottages, 45 independent living cottages. Hourly Rate $19.00 - $22.00

This position is from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM five days per week. This is a breakfast cook and lunch service position. Own unit to oversee, serve and maintain. Training is provided. Rotating weekends on/off. Holidays are required. Does not mean you work all of the holidays, it's just to say that you will be required to work a variety of holidays.

Cook Job Summary

Working for a Maine owned company while taking care of Maine people our Cooks work with a busy Dietary Services team to prepare appetizing and healthful food based on the nutrition and health needs of our Residents.

Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:

  • Review menus prior to preparation of food

  • Inspect special diet trays to assure they are correct

  • Preparation, cooking, and service of a variety of foods

  • General cleaning up of kitchen

  • Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies

  • Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary

  • Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished

  • Assure that food and supplies for the meal are readily available

    Requirements:

    Education: Associate’s degree preferred, not required

    Experience: Two years related food service experience

    Leadership: Position may need leadership skills and experience, if supervising staff

    Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
