The Sr. Consultant, Financial Analyst (CFA Preferred) will provide subject matter expertise and direction to field advisors seeking technical or planning support. This role will provide support to the firms’ financial planners and must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate must be passionate about helping advisors and their clients, self-motivated, able to work independently with an ability to prioritize to meet deadlines. Due to the complex nature of clients’ investment objectives and related service needs, candidate must be well versed in a broad range of investment disciplines and strategies.
Participate in portfolio analysis activities for a broad array of Individual, Family, Trust and Institutional portfolios; each subject to the customized investment needs of the client. Services include, but are not limited to, analysis of liquidity needs, analysis of equity, fixed income and other investments as appropriate
Provide analysis of prospective and existing client investment portfolios' strengths, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
Understand and be able to address the interdependence of portfolio analysis and investment planning (under a comprehensive financial planning framework)
Develop investment strategies for clients in coordination with advisors
Provide fact-based and well-researched recommendations to advisors
Maintain strong relationships with all advisors/teams and participate actively in the analysis of the strategies
Maintain Lincoln Financial Advisor's model portfolios as part of the Investment Committee
Provide periodic investment product/manager updates to all advisors
Utilizes strong self-starting abilities
Understand various return methodologies (IRR, TWR, etc.) and their differences. Have the ability to audit returns and communicate findings or discrepancies, if any.
Understand and apply investment management concepts within the wealth management framework.
Be a subject matter expert on all aspects of investment management including capital market assumptions.
Demonstrated increasing investment responsibilities with a specific focus on advanced investment modeling concepts, techniques and capability.
Excellent knowledge of capital market analysis and portfolio design within the wealth management context.
Demonstrated knowledge of money manger/fund due diligence
Excellent knowledge of investment theory as well as practical implementation and the conflicts that can arise between the two
Acts as a subject matter expert in design and debrief meetings to identify case-specific observations and makes appropriate recommendations to advisors.
Acts as the point of contact for advisors seeking technical and/or planning support from LFN's National Planning Team.
Participate on LFN's Investment Committee.
Collaborates and consults with advisors and other team members to build complex financial plans and models to support external client needs.
Delivers timely investment topics to team members, advisors, and office staff when necessary.
Maintains a national speaking presence at company-wide training events.
Reviews, identifies, and communicates recommendations on complex and high net worth cases to advisors and other team members.
Utilizes Lincoln approved financial planning and investment planning software tools to create complex models for advisors' client needs.
Education & Experience
- 7+ Years of investment management and/or investment planning experience. (Required)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (Preferred) or an advanced graduate degree
