Citigroup ERM Technology Product Manager - Director in Rutherford, New Jersey

Citi’s Functions Technology is responsible for delivering Technology solutions to Citi's Functions organizations. Enterprise Risk Management Technology within Functions Technology supports global functions partners such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), Retail Credit Risk, Operational Risk and Model Risk. Enterprise Risk Management covers Risk Identification, Risk Measurement, Appetite and Limits, Risk Analytics, New Activity Risk Management, Risk Framework and Policy, Enterprise Risk Management Governance.

The Director, ERM Technology Product Manager must have relevant business/risk management expertise and sufficient technology knowledge to develop the product strategy and objectives in alignment with the business stakeholders. The Product Manager is a senior management level position responsible for managing several Product Owners, providing direction, leadership, and driving the execution of the technology book of work for ERM Functions (e.g. Risk ID, Risk Appetite, Escalations, KRI, Limits & Threshold etc.).

The successful candidate needs to have an intimate knowledge of how technology interacts with various businesses across the technology development life cycle. To be successful in this role, the candidate should have multiple competences – design thinking, domain expertise, delivery track record, astute people manager and great collaborator across levels. A person who is successful in this role will be able to influence technology and business decisions therefore adding business value towards a stronger risk and controls environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the strategic product development and/or existing product enhancement roadmap in alignment with broader Stakeholder needs/goals

  • Manage day-to-day product management for core products including product delivery, client experience and client communication strategies. Assist the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results.

  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Solutions Architect teams throughout the product development lifecycle

  • Manage capacity planning by advocating for funding needed to meet future needs and proactively identify risk or issues which may impact delivery

  • Advocate for continuous development and provides Product team opportunities to continuously develop knowledge and skills

  • Work with internal partners to ensure that product risks and issues are understood, documented and mitigated

  • Define and drive the communication strategy that covers all of technology milestones and deliverables across the ERM programs, and facilitate continued communication with key stakeholders

  • Draft communication messages for senior management and internal stakeholders on ERM Technology program updates; including announcements of new functionality and features of strategic technology solutions

  • Ensure adherence to O&T and Functions Technology standards on program delivery, compliance, process management, risk, and controls

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years of managerial experience

  • Relevant experience in Risk Management, including regulatory remediation initiatives

  • Solid understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions

  • Possesses an observable and impactful delivery track record on business or risk function transformation

  • Subject Matter Expertise in risk and controls disciplines within technology processes

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

  • Ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency

  • Strong ability to communicate (oral & written) clearly to both technical experts, non-technical business partners to facilitate discussions and clearly articulate findings and defend points of view amongst various groups

  • Passion for building great products to solve business problems

  • Extensive experience working closely with cross functional partners in risk management, technology and Front Line Units

  • Track record of managing senior internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management efforts

  • Working experience of partnering with Program Management Office and business stakeholders

  • Must be a proactive and goal oriented strategic thinker, with ability to identify creative solutions

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
