The Aquarist must have extensive knowledge of fish species and care as well as live exhibit maintenance. Job duties include maintenance of the park aquariums, pumps, filters, and support systems, and conducting and recording daily testing. The Aquarist is also in charge of all fishing tournament activities, including caring for caught fish and recording associated data during the tournaments. This position also assists with the day-to-day physical operations of the park visitor information center and related grounds, maintaining the park’s butterfly gardens, supervising and training park and tournament volunteers as well as extra-help employees. The Aquarist will also present environmental education programs to park visitors, school groups, and organizations and other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid driver’s license, be able to traverse rough terrain and work a varied shift, including weekends and holidays. Criminal background check is required. Overnight travel is required on occasion.

Summary
The Park Program Specialist is responsible for supervising staff and administering museum programming for museum special events, on-site programs, outreach programs, and other special events. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Functions
Supervises a medium sized staff by interviewing, recommending staff for hire/fire, assigning and reviewing work, counseling, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Develops park museum on-site and outreach programs, special events, lesson plans, tours, and teacher resource materials. Presents programs to visitors and educational groups. Greets visitors; provides information and assistance; interprets park rules and regulations to staff and visitors. Maintains inventory records to ensure accuracy and assists in budget preparation. Researches and prepares programmatic reports and recommends changes as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, business, or related field; plus one year of experience in public relations, crafts, folk music, or a related field, including six months in a leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
