Position Summary

The Computer Integrated Manufacturing is responsible for the strategic planning and design of telecom infrastructure and/or network components. An Experienced Professional position applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. This position must be able to work independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.

Responsibilities

• Works on computer integrated manufacturing problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals. Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues, support production and engineering program and PLC needs

• Analyzes the short-term and/or long-term network capacity needs for current and future network requirements

• Designs the network architecture and performs technical analysis of software, hardware, network systems, systems engineering for front-end processors, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems

• Ensures compliance with Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards and protocols

• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills

RPGLE, Python, Java, PHP, Crystal Reports, MicroLogix and ControlLogix (and other types of PLC programming), HMI programming experience (Ignition and Factory Talk specifically would be a plus), Networking and IBM Administration

Education

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with 2 years experience or Associates degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience

Competencies

Analyze and solve problems, Ability to research issues and learn, innovative, self-motivated, team oriented

Knowledge

2 year minimum working knowledge with computers, networking, PLC’s and HMI’s

Abilities

Implement IT strategies that support production projects, work with team to resolve IT / Engineering issues, drive innovation, research and learn independently if necessary

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
