Lake Cumberland Area Development District Senior Citizen Director- McCreary County in Russell Springs, Kentucky
Class Characteristics: Responsible for everyday operation of the County Citizen Center. Performs other duties as required. General Duties and Responsibilities:Essential:1.Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the center2.Participates in maintaining all necessary records in an up to date manner, according to program policies and procedures.3.Assure and arrange for the care and cleaning of the senior center.4.Maintain self in a manner which will not bring discredit upon the center or the Lake Cumberland Area Development District (LCADD).5.Operate agency equipment and vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner, as assigned.6.Work with the center aide in the development of volunteer programs.7.Attend and participate in training and meetings when required.8.Assure maintenance and understanding of regulations, policies and procedures of the LCADD and aging programs9.Assure training of all volunteers and staff.10.Assure/arrange for the care of the aging program vehicles, including keeping a log of vehicle use.11.Performs other duties as assigned.Non-essential: None.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSTraining and Experience: High school diploma or its equivalent. Additional related work experience is desired. Certifications as required by state and federal regulations. Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge:1.Thorough knowledge of the applicable federal and state laws and regulations relevant to food preparation and handling.2..Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations relevant to provisions of supportive services.3.LCADD Policies and Procedures for the center and personnel.Skills:1.Skill in oral and written communication.2.Skill in record keeping.Abilities:1.Ability to operate general office equipment (calculator, computer, copier) daily.2.Ability to relate well with the elderly.3.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officers, council members, subcontractors and the general public.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONInstructions: Somewhat general; many aspects of the work are covered specifically and are regulatory, but also must use own judgment.Processes: Frequently required to refine existing work methods and develop new techniques, concepts, or programs within established limits or policies.Review of Work: Work reviewed through oral or written reports.Analytical Requirements: General.Decisions and Judgments: requires judgment and problem solving.Tools, Equipment and Vehicles Used: Basic office equipment; must use vehicle as a job requirement.Physical Demands: 1.Must operate mini-bus/van; Assist participants in boarding and un-boarding van (where needed).2.Must be able to lift, carry boxes/cartons weighing up to 50 pounds including placing in and removing from seat or cargo space of van or office (commodities).Contacts: Frequent public contact requiring tact and diplomacy.Confidential Information: Regular use of confidential information is a requirement of the job.Mental Effort: General.Interruptions: FrequentSpecial Licensing Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid drivers' license.Availability: N/A.Certification Requirements: CPR, First-Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and others as required by state and federal regulations. Also, all employees associated with handling of food preparation shall have Hepatitis A vaccination with the cost provided by the LCADD.Additional Requirements:.Perform other duties as assigned by LCADD Director of Senior Services or LCADD Executive Director.
