Siemens Energy Manufacturing Engineer - Repair Process Digitalization and Automation in Rural Hall, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

Applies principles of Industrial Engineering to optimize repair processes and enhance efficiency

through engineering process automation, digitalization techniques, standardization, and lean

applications. Provides technical leadership and direction to the shop floor through the creation and

provision of digitalized repair process documentation, answering technical questions related to the

digitalization and automation of turbine component repair processes, working closely with local

and global IT and Digitization experts within Siemens Energy, and acting as a technical leader

collaborating with external and internal partners. Collaborates with engineering and production

managers in the manufacturing repair area to support the transition from paper-based production

documentation to paperless documentation and the automation and digitalization of

manufacturing/industrial engineering workstreams.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Process Optimization: Applies Industrial Engineering principles to optimize repair

processes and efficiency by employing digitalization techniques, and lean applications.

• Enhance standardization, visibility, flow, and throughput through continuous improvement

and digitalization. Plans equipment layout, tools, and IT programs needed, and designs or

contributes to designing the digital manufacturing workflow.

• Documentation: Develops and/or specifies digital tools for process documentation

authoring, maintenance, and distribution. Assembles and provides digital

manufacturing/repair instructions to the shop floor. Improves documentation availability

though digitalization.

• Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance engineering and workshop processes by

leveraging advanced digitalization and automation tools and techniques. Partner with data

science and analytics professionals to create user-friendly digital dashboards on the shop

floor, delivering real-time production feedback that is easily interpretable and actionable by

employees.

• Flow Improvements: Identify bottlenecks and true capacity. Ensure processes are working

to a signal. Enable communication of flow and bottlenecks with digitalization. Train people

to recognize flow constraints.

• Shop Floor Engagement: Engages with shop floor employees, customer service, engineers,

quality, and customers to provide digital manufacturing solutions, technical feedback,

guidance, and recommendations.

• Deviation Management: Develop and support digital processes that supply and collect

detailed information on production

What You Bring

• Industrial Engineering Principles: Strong understanding of Industrial Engineering

principles and their application in manufacturing and repair processes.

Process Automation: Experience with engineering process automation tools and

techniques.

• Digitalization Technologies: Proficiency in digitalization and workflow automation

technologies and their implementation in shop floor processes and engineering workflows.

• Lean Six Sigma: Experience in applying Lean principles and Six Sigma for impactful

improvements.

• Continuous Improvement: A strong drive for continuous improvement.
