Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Contract Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT -or- Huntsville, AL -or- Colorado Springs, CO and support the Advanced Programs team within the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Cradle to grave contract activities from the business acquisition process phases through execution and closeout.

  • Conducting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Planning and executing successful contract negotiations of a moderately complex nature and achieving targeted profit rates, as well as producing favorable standard and non-standard terms and conditions to assist in mitigating risk and meeting overall financial goals.

  • Performs complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Demonstrates skill and ability to analyze and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness.

  • Providing guidance and working collaboratively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, global supply chain, and security for seamless contract administration.

  • Develop contractual solutions to a variety of complex problems.

  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations.

  • Understanding assigned contract scope and terms to identify and manage changes to the contract baseline.

  • Assessing situations and make appropriate contractual recommendations and/or take appropriate actions.

  • Working on multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Act as primary interface with customer for contractual issues; Monitor contract and associated program to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated and understood.

  • Enter and maintain contract data into Contract Management System and/or Enterprise Accounting System.

  • Building customer relationships and coordinating timely, accurate responses to both external and internal customers.

  • Exhibiting good communications with internal and external contacts. Understand the need to adjust communication style to yield better responses from customers.

  • Delivering customer satisfaction.

  • Able to communicate effectively at the highest levels.

  • Viewed as expert in the contracts field.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications Level 5:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 15+ years of related professional experience – OR – a Master’s degree with 13+ years of related professional experience

  • Experience managing contracts on large programs and captures with research and development as well as production requirements with Department of Defense customers.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong contract interpretation and researching skillset.

  • Collaborative team-member who thrives in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Knowledge and understanding of pricing principles and FAR/DFARS as well as associated Federal Contracting regulations.

  • Experience with proposal strategy, contract formation and customer relationships.

  • Must be willing to travel 25% of time as required to support business/program needs.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Top Secret Clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Top Secret Clearance. US citizenship is a prerequisite.

  • Understanding of contract management systems and ERP systems.

  • Experience working in non-FAR based OTA contracting vehicles.

  • Extensive proposal experience.

  • NCMA Certification (CPCM, CFCM and/or CCCM).

  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholder and subject matter experts.

  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Contracts processes and procedures.

Salary Range: $117,800 - $185,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
