Your Role
As a Key Account Manager, you'll act as a strategic consultant, understanding customer needs and proposing value-adding solutions to build lasting partnerships. Based in the Netherlands, you'll manage local and international customers across various sectors including high tech, aerospace, industrials, automotive, consumer, and healthcare. Your portfolio will be tailored to your expertise.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, acting as the main point of contact.
Focus on business development within the National Sales Team to grow market share in the Netherlands.
Engage with new and existing accounts, building strategic relationships and bringing new business on board.
Plan and execute key account strategies, including value propositions and positioning in tenders.
Identify new opportunities to expand business and solutions, maintaining a robust pipeline and high closing ratio.
Conduct regular review sessions to update customers on strategies, priorities, and continuous improvement solutions.
Coordinate with virtual account teams to ensure global customer representation and share best practices.
Monitor and control monthly performance metrics, taking immediate action on deviations and ensuring smooth handover of new business to operations.
Your Skills and Experiences
Academic degree, ideally in logistics
Strong leadership skills for driving key account initiatives and team direction
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Key Account Manager or Strategic Business Development Manager in logistics, preferably in freight forwarding
Knowledge of Sea, Air, and Road Logistics services and related solutions (customs, intermodal, contract logistics, integrated logistics)
Strategic mindset for developing long-term customer solutions with continuous improvement
Ability to foster team engagement and build a collaborative global community
Proficiency in English and Dutch
