Kymera Independent Physicians Radiology Technician (Radiology Tech) in Roswell, New Mexico

Perform ordered radiological and Bone Density exams, notifying patients of restrictions prior to radiological procedures and explaining the testing being performed. Ensure all safety precautions are followed in accordance with OSHA regulations. Duties include:
- Ensure orders received from provider are complete and reflect accurate diagnosis/code(s).
- Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques in accordance with OSHA requirements, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Document patient care services and examinations(s) performed in Electronic Medical Records.
- Maintain radiological equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Contact patients with appointment information; verify dates/times. Notify patient of all special/prep instructions for Pet-CT, Nuc testing, etc.
- Upload studies/images from disc completed by outside sources; using proper naming protocol.
- Download scans to disc for Patients/Providers. Ensure all patients receive copy of studies on disc prior to departure.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Certification in Diagnostic Med Sonography (Ultrasound) and/or CT preferred but not required.
