Job Summary:

Akima Data Management (ADM), an Akima company, is seeking a Security Program Information Administrator (SPIADM) to provide senior personnel administrative support to the Marine Corps Embassy Group, located in Rosslyn, VA.

This position is to be located within DS/IP/OPO. The SPIADM will be assigned to provide assistance in Worldwide Protection Services, Local Guard, Bodyguard and Surveillance Detection program information collection, storage, validation and dissemination practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • The SPIA will assist in managing a collaborative Federal Cloud-based platform that provides the Regional Directors and Regional Security Offices with the ability to share information on a wide range of matters of vital importance to Diplomatic Security operations worldwide.

  • The SPIA shall work with DS/IP/OPO Security Program Officers, Financial Management Officers, and Security Program Analysts to ensure information management practices and procedures provide DS/IP/OPO personnel and management accurate program related information.

  • The SPIADM shall continually review and evaluate information management practices and procedures and generate ad hoc reports within office information management systems to include the Oracle Reports and Discoverer.

  • The SPIADM shall work with SPOs to develop information management training curriculum relating to information management.

  • The SPIADM shall serve as liaison between non-technical personnel located around the world and application developers. The SPIADM shall also identify actions and activities necessary to ensure the proper flow of security program information; establish procedures for use of DS security program applications and standards for data entry; identify the security program business requirements and translate them into technical specifications; and provide status of development activities for security program management.

  • The SPIADM shall provide technical expertise and managerial oversight of the flow of security program information from over 260 posts worldwide; ensure that the security program data meets the expected standards and work with training coordinators and application development to simplify the processes for DS security program applications to minimize re-entry of data.   • The SPIADM shall be well versed in software engineering over the complete software development lifecycle and across all the functional aspects of the office security programs. The SPIAMD shall work with the SPOs and Program Analysts to ensure that information is being properly entered so that it can be analyzed for significant trends and patterns. The SPIADM shall work with the SPOs to develop and update information reporting and formatting procedures, which optimize the performance of the SD Database system.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Four (4) years of general experience. Generalized experience in program support must include experience in a professional or supervisory capacity, in planning, evaluating, analyzing, or implementing Governmental affair types of programs.

  • Four (4) years of specialized experience and four (4) years of generalized experience in program support.

  • Specialized experience is defined as responsible professional or managerial experience in supporting security-related programs in the Government or public sector environment.

  • This position requires demonstrated experience in developing plans, policies and procedure implementation, and the interpretation of Government regulations.

  • Well versed in written and verbal communications skills and possess an in-depth knowledge of computers with an emphasis on advanced proficiency in word-processing, data base management and financial spreadsheets.

  • The SPIADM shall be capable of solving problems, communicating proposed solutions to upper management and be capable of overseeing the data management and collection effort of personnel supporting DS/IP/OPO programs.

  • The SPIADM must also be able to function effectively in adverse environments in order to provide training in data base management. The SPIADM shall be capable of working effectively with others, including those of diverse cultures. The SPIADM shall have familiarity with foreign affairs agencies and be willing to travel overseas up to 25 percent of the time. The SPIADM shall not have any impediments to overseas travel that may be to countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy. The knowledge of foreign languages is desirable but not essential.

  • Active Secret Clearance or a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
