Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate washing and drying equipment, load, and unload laundry from
machines. Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to
product specifications.
- Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and
report any irregularities to immediate supervisor. Monitoring the machinery,
loading in accordance with manufacturers specifications.
Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen.
Ensure the safe usage and handling, storage of chemicals, wearing of PPE.
Monitoring chemicals to ensure the machine is operating correctly.
Assist with ordering of supplies.
Assist with inventory management.
Ensure the laundry rooms are kept clean and tidy.
Lint filters are continually cleared and maintained.
The sheet folding machine is operated in accordance with manufacture
recommendations.
Assist with training and coaching of associates.
Assisting with housekeeping duties is required by leadership.
Take part in departmental training and meetings.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to communicate in English.
Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
Always maintain a professional appearance and manner.
Can communicate well with guests.
Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
Working knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads, and stand for long periods of time.
Requires lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 75 lbs. Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
