Description

The Operations and Demand Planning Manager will own the end-to-end of demand and supply planning processes. This includes collecting data from both internal and external sources, completing various statistical analyses, and data modeling to provide guidance on future demand. This position will also be responsible for managing manufacturing capacity model(s) and communicating the capabilities for existing and new business opportunities. Create statistical forecast based on relevant market information to accurately gauge demand for products, and effectively organize resources to meet this demand with the goal of improving inventory, increasing customer satisfaction, and shaping demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create statistical forecasts by collecting and analyzing data with historical models. Error analysis to improve forecasts.

  • Review demand drivers, sales, and trends with Sales and Marketing

  • Maintain relationships with Sales and Marketing to access latest information.

  • Work in collaboration with internal sales team and customers to ensure all incoming information is complete and accurate to maintain the overall integrity of the required demand.

  • Reach consensus for operational demand forecast with Sales and Marketing

  • Work with Supply to ensure effective inventory management and customer service.

  • Manage and maintain forecasting software.

  • Suggest adjustments to operational forecasts.

  • Manage and maintain dynamic manufacturing capacity model(s) and provide feedback on unexpected constraints, excess capacity and where additional attention is needed.

  • Update forecasts for new products, seasonal products, discounts, promotions.

  • Collaborate with management, inventory, supply chain and sales teams to execute the demand planning functions.

  • Investigate areas of the demand planning forecast that were not accurate including potential challenges with incoming customer forecasts.

  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.

  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.

  • Develop routine and ad-hoc demand related reports for management.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Statistics or related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a planning/forecasting role in a dynamic seasonal business.

  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.

  • Experience in Salesforce.com , Demantra a plus.

  • Extensive experience building models and utilizing advanced forecasting tools in excel, Powder BI etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Has a positive, can-do attitude strong communication skill to communicate insight gleaned from forecasts.

  • Has a problem-solving approach and looks to turn insight into practical solutions.

  • Is comfortable with presenting findings to senior management.

  • Has a collaborative approach to deal with different functions across the business and reach consensus for forecast figures.

  • A strong analytical and quantitative mindset to handle and interpret large amounts of data.

  • Experience with databases and statistics is preferred.
