This position will provide leadership and direction in the management of the long-range capital program for the Metro District. This includes development and management of the Captial Highway Investment Plan (CHIP), investment direction, coordination of the long-range program with planning and program delivery staff and serve as the district’s primary contact for external partners on long-range capital program related questions.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
This position is located at Waters Edge in Roseville. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule. The incumbent will be required to report onsite at least once/month but may be required to work onsite more depending on business needs. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of professional supervisory (supervising professional employees) experience OR Four years of advanced professional transportation planning experience.
Experience must also demonstrate the following:
Experience working as a project leader or lead worker, demonstrating the ability to successfully motivate and direct the work of other professional staff in transportation programming, planning, urban planning or close-related policy analysis.
Experience using programming/planning principles and practices sufficient to coordinate transportation planning processes.
Budget analysis experience sufficient to oversee the program budget.
Extensive knowledge of federal and state transportation planning legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
Note: A bachelor's or master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.

Supervisory experience
Experience with program management and development of capital plans
Experience with program delivery and the development of projects in design and construction
