The manager of Ethics and Compliance will drive compliance by playing an integral role in the creation, implementation and tracking of key ethical training modules. This person will conduct internal investigations into allegations of non-compliance or employee misconduct across the enterprise, with an emphasis on employee relations matters, including sexual harassment, discrimination, disrespectful behavior and workplace violence.

This position has been segmented as Hybrid meaning there is a combination of three onsite days per week and the rest remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts internal investigations of alleged non-compliance or employee misconduct across the enterprise, with an emphasis on employee relations matters, including allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, disrespectful behavior and workplace violence.Documents investigative findings, participates in root-cause analysis, and identifies trends.

  • Partners with Human Resources, Legal and senior functional leaders and makes recommendations regarding personnel action or other remediation/mitigation measures based on investigative findings.

  • Participates in training and orientation of new hires across a variety of functions who participate in investigations and use the Check-in Line as a case management tool.

  • Develops a strategic and creative approach to compliance training, tailoring training program content to be relevant to the Company’s workforce and consistent with our Cultural Beliefs.Takes a leading role in conceiving, developing, and implementing training modules for including ethical conduct, sexual harassment prevention, and best practices for conducting internal investigations.

  • In partnership with Ethics and Compliance Leadership, maintains and updates the Code of Conduct and other key compliance policies.

  • Drives an annual compliance training calendar, balancing competing demands for associate time, and effectively communicates training priorities to HR, other functional leaders as well as the field organization.

  • Manages and/or participates in special projects as requested by Ethics and Compliance or broader Legal Department Leadership.

Internal:

  • Must be able to connect and collaborate with associates at all levels, especially within Compliance, Legal and Human Resources.

External:

  • As needed, engages with external legal counsel, customers, vendors and suppliers, as well as law enforcement agencies (local, state, federal).

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, Accounting, Human Resources or related field is required.

  • Additional training or professional designations in the areas of law enforcement, internal investigations, auditing, employee relations or compliance preferred (e.g., CCEP, CPA, CFE, PHR).

  • Bilingual – English and Spanish preferred

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: Corporate Investigations, Compliance, Legal, Audit or Human Resources.

  • Experience working in a large, multi-facility organization with organized labor is a plus.

  • Prior experience conducting employee interviews as part of an or internal investigation or similar process is also required.

  • Prior experience managing, creating or implementing compliance training programs is a plus.

  • Possesses problem solving capabilities, attention to detail and strong analytical skills in order to clearly and succinctly synthesize data elements and identify trends and outliers across multiple markets.

  • The ability to stay calm, focused and work successfully in a fast-paced, lean environment under time constraints and in sensitive situations.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

  • General working knowledge of legal and employment issues that directly impact the manner in which investigations may be conducted.

  • Balanced self-confidence and personal humility.A proactive, energetic and enthusiastic approach to all tasks, great or small, and a finely developed sense of humor.

  • A positive, transparent demeanor, the natural inclination to talk straight, and the highest standards of professional integrity and character.
