Honeywell Advanced Structural Engineer in Rosemont, Illinois

UOP Honeywell Engineering is looking for a “Advanced Mech. Design Engineer – Structural” to working in variety of Engineering projects. Candidate needs to be a knowledge source related to detail designers, fabricators, and coordinates a broad range of complex professional development, design, technology or quality assignments requiring extensive knowledge of advanced techniques and their application to specific projects and work with different disciplines in the Rosemont office along with other global engineering offices in support of modular projects and sales support.

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Rosemont, IL location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the development of advanced mechanical designs for structural components and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications, perform structural analysis and simulations, and ensure product performance and reliability. Your expertise in structural engineering will contribute to the creation of cutting-edge products and solutions that meet the needs of our customers. The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $94,400 - $118,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide proposal/sales support by reviewing client specifications and requirements, provide steel weight estimates including an estimate of major member sizes.

  • Review and confirm code basis for each project.

  • Prepare structural design and fabrication specifications for each project.

  • Collaborate with other project team members to comply with project requirements and meet project schedules.

  • Review of detailed design including drawings, MTO, 3D Model and STAAD analysis.

  • Review of fabrication shop detail drawings and fabrication sequence.

  • Guide and monitor sub-contracted structural engineers.

  • International travel up to 15% annually in 1 to 2 week durations.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with refining/petrochemical industry design codes/specifications: AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, ACI, API.

  • Experience in Steel/Concrete Structure design (Specs/Standard/Calculations/Drawings).

  • Basic knowledge of Civil engineering design (Roadway and Pavement, Underground sewer).
