Become a Senior HR Business Partner at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be the primary HR resource to an assigned set of Operating Units (OUs) providing thought leadership, guidance, and support to executives, leaders, and employees at all levels of the organization on HR/people related matters. This requires business insight that will be validated by staying connected to big picture OU priorities and needs, strategic objectives as well as building an understanding of financial and resource health in order to advise more strategically. You will demonstrate your overall knowledge of human resources programs and practices to provide a cohesive view of strategic and tactical people efforts

In this role, you’ll be held accountable for influencing the development and implementation of long- and short-term strategies and plans that will improve the workforce environment/culture, and will work beyond HR to bring together data, insights, and perspectives that will shape the direction of employee programs, processes, and systems. You will identify and share best practices and identify early indicators of needs that will enable the development of people solutions.

  • Drive the development of people initiatives and support the execution of business plans that directly align with the organization’s strategic plan and goals, as well as HR policies and practices.

  • Identify, develop, and ensure the effective delivery and implementation of impactful, high-value HR solutions.

  • Partner with HR COEs to influence the design of operational plans, implement and improve HR processes/activities.

  • Function as a strategic thought partner to collaborate with and influence the decisions of business unit leaders.

  • Analyze and interpret workforce planning data and analytics, and share valuable insights with leadership that enables them to forecast and plan for future business unit impact.

  • Engage with and support employees across all levels of the organization. (e.g., individual contributors, management, executives).

  • Lead and/or contribute to projects and initiatives.

  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

The essentials

  • Ten years of experience in a Human Resources Business Partner or equivalent HR generalist role.

  • Five or more years’ experience successfully operating in a strategic HR Business Partnering role with substantial direct partnership with senior business executives and leadership teams.

  • Experience working in a large complex organization where you had to demonstrate “big picture” thinking and strategic vision while also being able to effectively execute related tactical and transactional work.

  • Two years of experience coaching employees and leaders.

  • Two years of experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

The preferred

  • HRBP experience delivering HR solutions within a COE operating model.

  • Strong intuition for business including financial health of the organization.

  • Effectively collaborate and influence outcomes with key business partners and within HR.

  • Ability to routinely exercise judgment and discretion to advise and recommend course of action.

  • Experience making sound, strategic decisions that have significant organizational impact.

  • Analyze and interpret data (translating data into insights) and articulate findings and opportunities in a compelling manner.

  • Experience prioritizing multiple projects and competing demands.

  • Experience supporting large-scale organizational change.

  • SME of technical HR principles.

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively connect the dots.

  • Knowledge of state/federal employment laws and regulations.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
