Off and Paid for all Major Holidays!Offered Benefits: Paid Personal and Sick Time Free Health Insurance Free Dental Insurance Free Employee Basic Life Insurance Tuition ReimbursementQualifications: High School Diploma NYS Teaching Assistant Certification, Level I- one year related experience Level II- two years related experience, 18 college credits, 6 which must be in relevant subjects Level III - three years related experience, 36 college credits, 12 of which must be in relevant subjects Level IV Pre-Professional - three years related experience, 36 college credits, 18 of which must be in relevant subjects.Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assist the classroom teacher in all aspects of meeting the needs of the students including but not limited to, developing and implementing lesson plans, leading group activities, conducting student/program evaluations, orienting teacher aides about the classroom, students, and the dismissal process and assisting with all aspects of the students’ physical needs. Work with individual students or groups of students on special instructional projects. Provide the teacher with information about students, which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate educational programs. Develop and implement instructional materials for use with the students. Assist with administrative duties, i.e. student attendance, correspondence with families, arranging field trips, ordering supplies, daily evaluations of per diem aides, and scheduling therapy sessions. Participate actively in the classroom meeting and the team meeting. In absence of teacher, Teaching Assistant will chair classroom and team meeting. Participate in evacuation of all students during fire and emergency drills. In absence of teacher, ensure that all emergency procedures and activities are followed. Attend faculty and agency professional development programs. In the absence of the teacher, Teaching Assistant will lead class in the classroom routine and instructional activities including classroom staff supervision. Assist students with all ADL needs including, but not limited to, feeding, transferring, lifting, toileting, dressing (coats), and maintaining a clean and organized classroom etc. as per student’s IEP. Ensure carryover of therapeutic techniques in the classroom.Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand and or walk for extended periods. Must be able to bend, and push more than 100 lbs. In addition, must be able to lift all students with/without assistance as deemed by the physical therapist. Provide hand-over-hand assistance when necessary

Minimum Salary: 17.00 Maximum Salary: 19.00 Salary Unit: Hourly
