ENGINEER DESIGNER \| TRANSPORTATION SUMMARY: Designs civil engineering projects such as highways, streets, bridges, culverts, and drainage facilities.

\

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Reviews rough sketches, drawings, and other engineering data received from clients, Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, or Project Manager;

Attends meetings, interacts with clients and government agency employees, and publicly represents the firm in a professional manner;

Creates detailed engineering designs, prepares construction drawings, and requests the assistance of Civil Engineering Technicians in the preparation of said drawings for proposed improvements such as roads, bridges, and drainage systems under the direction of the Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, or Project Manager;

Assists with the writing of engineering contracts, construction contracts, and construction specifications, performs quantity take-offs, and prepares contractor bid packages;

Maintains proficiency in automated design programs, provides assistance to other professional staff, and operates production equipment;

Works closely with the Civil Engineer, Engineer Intern, Project Manager, support staff, and other team members to design Civil Engineering projects; and

Performs other duties as assigned.
