The Siemens Industry, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing EHS Environmental & Regulatory Technician for our Spartanburg factory, with 750+ employees that produce high-quality, make-to-order power distribution equipment. Our processes include material handling, metal and bar fabrication, assembly and test. This role ensures adherence to EHS regulations, promotes sustainable practices, and assists in the implementation of EHS programs.

The Manufacturing EHS Environmental & Regulatory Technician is responsible for supporting the environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within the manufacturing facility. This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards within the manufacturing facility. This role involves monitoring safety practices, conducting audits, and assisting in the implementation of safety programs to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to identify potential environmental hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards and Environmental.

  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Collect and analyze environmental data, including air, water, and soil samples.

  • Support the implementation of waste management and recycling programs.

  • Support the implementation of safety training programs for employees and contractors.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of environmental inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.

  • Assist in the management of hazardous materials and waste disposal processes.

  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills related to environmental incidents.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of Safety & environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.

  • Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards (e.g., EPA, ISO 14001).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in an environmental role within a manufacturing environment preferred.

Regulatory Compliance Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.

  • Experience in preparing and submitting regulatory reports and documentation.

  • Ability to conduct compliance audits and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues.

  • Familiarity with safety permitting processes and requirements.

  • Knowledge of RCRA & DOT storage & handling of hazardous materials.

  • Ability to stay updated on changes in safety laws and regulations and ensure the facility’s compliance.
