Job Title: Survey Technician

Job Description

The Survey Technician must be knowledgeable of and abide by safety requirements, and have a good understanding of traffic control and safety procedures for a variety of surveying and construction operations. Responsibilities include the care, cleaning, and use of a variety of surveying tools and equipment including field radios. The role involves handling daily operations, checking, and basic field adjustments on transits, total stations, total electronic stations, data collectors, levels, compasses, tribrach's, and tripods. The technician will be knowledgeable of the principles of performing basic surveys such as leveling, traversing, triangulation, trilateration, public land surveys, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, and photo control surveys. They will coordinate fieldwork for various standard types of surveys under the supervision of a Party Chief and are expected to maintain neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations such as leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile, and cross-section surveys.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.

Work Environment

This position is part of a 40-person company with 3 main managers overseeing different teams: civil, field/water waste, and surveying groups. The surveying group includes 3 CAD drafters and 13 surveyors and is rapidly growing. The role requires fieldwork, so the candidate must be comfortable with travel throughout the state and outdoor conditions. The company offers a flexible M-F schedule from 8:30am-5:00pm and provides a company car or mileage reimbursement
