Job Title: Designer DrafterJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Designer Drafter to join our team in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MicroStation and Open Roads Design software, as well as expertise in the Storm Flow modules. You will be responsible for creating detailed design drawings, plans, and models for various civil engineering projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and other infrastructure developments.
Responsibilities
Utilize MicroStation and Open Roads to develop design drawings and specifications for civil engineering projects.
Create and manage 3D models, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections.
Implement Storm Flow modules to analyze drainage systems and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
Prepare detailed documentation, including reports, presentations, and project summaries.
Review and modify designs based on feedback and changing project needs.
Conduct quality control checks on drawings and models to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in Civil Drafting, specifically roadways, drainage systems, and other infrastructure developments.
Proven experience using MicroStation and Open Roads Design software.
Expertise with Storm Flow modules.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Bentley System, survey software, and land surveying.
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Associate degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Work Environment
The company has a family-oriented environment with around 40-45 employees. Work hours are flexible from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The office is cozy and quiet, and employees can wear comfortable, professional attire. The company values work-life balance and makes accommodations for employees with commitments outside of work. All travel expenses for projects, including hotels, air travel, meals, and mileage, are covered. Employees earn one week of PTO and paid holidays while on contract.
