What You Will Do :
We are currently searching for Scientific Program Analyst. This role will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) BRAIN Initiative, as well as to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the contributing Institutes and Centers of the BRAIN Initiative in which the BRAIN Initiative manages, co-manages, or participants, as appropriate. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance strategic planning of support services. This is a full-time position in Rockville, MD.
Ensure that all aspects of the programs are tracked and reported, key milestones and deliverables dates are known and adhered to, and that all individuals and partners involved are kept appraised of progress of integrated tasks and next steps.
Work with staff on the concept development, planning, execution, and support of all project-related activities.
Design, develop and maintain databases, Listservs, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and other computer applications.
Prepare scientific and programmatic presentation materials such as tables, graphs, slides, abstracts, posters, handouts, meeting materials, background/supplemental documents, and agendas overheads by assimilating and mastering the scientific data and programmatic context for use at presentations and meetings.
Conduct search for material for a specific programmatic need, using a database to search for material in many cases.
Organize and maintain project documentation and communications; track project progress using project management tools.
Maintain and organize Microsoft Teams (or similar) platform to facilitate team interactions/sharing of information.
Perform logistical planning for various scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures, workshops, and special projects.
Work with staff to identify key issues and track action items and tasks, providing deadline reminders to Program staff and update and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
In preparation for MCWG Organization of team meetings; create agenda; send out calendar invite/ call information; Take minutes including notes on assigned tasks; track action items and task providing deadline reminders to program staff; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
Actively support applications and awards. Before submission: Evaluate the eligibility and expected responsiveness of applicants; Track inquiries and maintain documentation. After submission; Check responsiveness of applications; coordinate Institute assignments. During Review Stage, Take review notes, Request summary statement responses. For Funding process, prepare funding plan presentation framework; JIT reviews; checklist; Attend committee meetings to generate and distribute minutes and to follow up on action items.
Engage in Outreach to prospective applicants, organizations, and other external partners, as needed.
Organize and maintain internal and external repositories of resources including minutes, reports, spreadsheets, and web pages related to the team to better facilitate the efficient flow of information related to projects and program activities.

What You Will Need :
Master’s Degree
A minimum of TWO (2) years of related experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and capably prioritize tasks in alignment with larger organizational goals.
Ability to create, analyze and report on operational metrics to monitor progress and drive improved performance.
Able to manage agendas.
Experience with workshop and conference planning.
Experience with data analysis, data cleaning, and/or gap analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Adobe Acrobat
Familiar with Structured Query Language (SQL), PowerBI, and/or Python
What Would Be Nice To Have :
Previous experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Have strong writing skills.
Ability to ask the right questions to analyze situations and resolve problems, settle differences in productive ways, and complete projects within established deadlines and tolerances.
Ability to manage ambiguity and operate effectively, even when things are uncertain, or the way forward is not clear.
Have interpersonal skills, takes initiative, and can anticipate needs.
Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, good judgement, and critical thinking.
Be detail-oriented, excellent follow-through and able to plan and act strategically with a clear sense of ownership.
Experience with Portfolio analysis.
Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare formal correspondence and complex reports in a style that is appropriate to the needs of the recipient.
Ability to build and maintain strong networks to connect the right people to accomplish goals.
The annual salary range for this position is $57,300.00-$85,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
