Apex Companies LLC seeks Construction Project Manager in Rockville, MD. Job Duties: Oversight of construction activities to ensure compliance with the design documents. Construction observation and ensuring the project is completed per the plans and specifications. Observe the construction of various infrastructure developments. Monitor and report the contractor's adherence to standards, specifications, and design drawings and permits. Work independently under broad, general supervision and in conjunction with the Construction Project Manager. Review contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation and provide comments, coordinate review, and record as necessary. Oversee construction activities ensuring compliance with the contract and site procedures, track activities to review payments, and prepare progress reports. Monitor that construction complies with approved current standards and specifications. Perform highly responsible functions requiring the exercise of independent judgment and technical knowledge. Observe and photograph construction work in progress. Note and report improprieties and deficiencies. Maintain field log of daily events. Track and quantify items of construction daily. Conduct meetings and prepare minutes. Monitor project schedule. Write and issue field orders, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate the cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Project Manager. Supervise and direct the activities of Construction Inspectors, testing services, and sub-consultants as needed. Formulate written progress reports. Observe and record material and equipment tests and equipment startup. Review and provide recommendations for submittals, pay estimates for contractors, proposed change orders, and documentation for funding and regulatory agencies. Position based at headquarters and may be assigned to unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. as determined by management. Telecommuting permitted. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or foreign equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered, project manager, project engineer, or related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires experience or coursework in each of the following skills: Reading plans and specifications. Working independently under broad, general supervision and with a Construction Manager. Ensuring environmental standards and regulations are adhered to. Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications. Construction standards, inspection methods, and techniques. Communicating with project design engineers, managers, client staff, and contractor's superintendent. AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, BlueBeam, and Procore. Travel will not require any international travel and national travel is limited to the States of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut or New Hampshire on an infrequent basis.
