Performs a series of steps to complete quotes and sales orders from customers. Prepares quotes/orders from request for quotes or purchase orders by performing the following duties. Has authority to set/determine pricing on an order by order and customer by customer basis without prior approval. Represents the Company in resolving customer issues or complaints. Does not require direct supervision. Has authority to negotiate customer pricing and bind the Company to negotiated price. Provides consultation to customer regarding special services or requirements. Reads customer blueprints and helps determine their needs. Offers different alternatives to customers in their preferred choice of product. Responsible to close sales deals and achieve customer satisfaction. Responsible for achieving sales targets and improve goodwill of the Company. Informs customer of unit prices, shipping date, anticipated delays, and any additional information needed by customer. Creates quote/sales order/production order, including determination of customer pricing and availability. Checks inventory control and notifies purchasing of orders that would deplete stock. Works closely with purchasing to provide customer with correct product. Initiates purchase requisitions. Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite shipping or trace missing or delayed shipments. Attempts to sell additional merchandise and value-added services to customer. Other duties may be assigned.
