Duties and Responsibilities(REQUIRED) :

The Georgia Department of Driver Services, Regulatory Compliance Division, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Coordinator within the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) Unit. Under limited supervision, the Coordinator has responsibility for limited projects and well-defined assignments regarding the ADAP program. The ADAP Coordinator compiles and analyzes data and prepares comprehensive reports for benchmarking and grant reporting; Participates in the assessment of program operations; Monitors and ensures program compliance; Seeks creative solutions for system automations and continuous process improvements; Provides technical assistance to external and internal customers; Provides computer support and/or manages an automated information system to tract ADAP expenditures, instructions, shipments, etc.; Maintains positive working relationships with State Department of Education, local school boards, school personnel, and ADAP manual vendor; Plans, develops and delivers training presentations.

The incumbent will be responsible for responding to management and customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner, in accordance with the core values of the Department of Driver Services. The incumbent will be expected to maintain a positive attitude and be receptive to change in a fast-paced environment. The ADAP Coordinator will be responsible for being responsive and escalating customer complaints to management. The incumbent will be expected to develop and maintain strong partnerships between the Division and its internal and external business partners.

Demonstrated competencies needed to successfully perform this job include:

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to make decisions with limited supervision.

  • Experience working cooperatively as a team.

  • Experience gathering and reporting statistical data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college and one year of related public sector or human services experience or three years’ of related public sector or human services experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess ALL of the following:

  • Five years’ experience as an instructor in a learning environment teaching adult learners.

  • Demonstrated work experience analyzing queries/data via reports.

  • Three years’ experience working for a government entity interpreting rules and regulations.
