VES, LLC Quality Assurance Engineer in Rockaway, New Jersey
VES, LLC seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer that is looking to learn and develop their skills under a senior level testing team. The skills taught by our experienced team set a foundation for developing the skills needed to operate as a highly efficient Test Automation experts.You'll be working on a small team of exceptionally smart people to design and build cutting-edge technology, pushing the envelope of what is possible. General Job Duties:Develop a deep understanding of the team's test processes and proceduresMaintain and improve the performance of existing software solutionsRecommend improvements to existing software solutions as necessaryHelp implement the appropriate test methodologies for various tools, and help create test plans based on development team's test reportReview System/Application/Software RequirementsPerform regression testing on delivered tools when incremental bug fixes are provided by the software developersEagerness to grow professionally, and willingness to hone your craftRequired Skills and Competencies:Experience using the Linux terminal to perform tasks such as installing applications, managing daemons/accounts, and troubleshooting operating system level issuesAbility to manage Linux systems in a virtualized environmentWorking knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) Ability to develop effective software test plans and software test strategy documentationFamiliarity with professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including requirements elicitation, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, agile development, build processes, testing, and operationsAbility to work independently as well as in a collaborative environmentPassionate about learning new technologies, tools, and platformsAbility to take guidance and execute in a self-motivated mannerDesired Skills and Competencies:Programming experience using at least one object-oriented programming language, e.g (Java, Python, C++, Visual Basic .NET, Ruby)Demonstrated ability to create and manage an automated test suite Experience with Atlassian (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).Experience with Android Development and/or TestingExperience with Linux Containers (LXC) or DockerFamiliar with Test Management Tools such as TestLink, Zephyr, TestRail, etc.Required Education and Experience:BS in Computer Science or a related field, with 1-3 years of relevant experienceExcellent oral and written communication skills with respect to all the above requirements.VES offers a rich benefits package that includes:401(k) matchHighly Competitive SalaryHealth BenefitsUp to 15 Paid Vacation days / year10 Paid HolidaysTuition ReimbursementVES is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
