U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Logistics Management Specialist in Rock Island, Illinois

About the Position: Performs as a Logistics Management Specialist. This is a Temporary appointment NTE 1year. See "Additional Information" section. Responsibilities Oversees the Commanding General's mission of War Planning with major implications throughout Army and the Dept. of Defense (DOD). Develops methods for measuring munitions readiness using standard Army methodology for measuring Munitions readiness. Develops policies to solve and/or improve munitions readiness issues and execution of conventional ammunition logistics operations. Analyzes and prepares briefings with conclusions and recommended corrective actions to senior leadership. Studies Directorate mission, functions, and practices to ensure efficient use of available resources, compliance with regulatory requirements, and recommend improvements. Coordinates and implements guidance/policy with Army, other services, and other Army commands to maintain optimum warfighting readiness. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Analyzing and evaluating data from ammunition logistics lifecycle management and logistics systems; 2) Developing program management policy and procedures related to supply, production, and maintenance of ammunition; 3) Performing surveillance over production plans to maintain readiness proficiency; and 4) Assisting in the coordination of ammunition acquisition, production and sustainment actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Problem Solving Product Support and Sustainment Project Management Reading Comprehension Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Foundational Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee.
