University of Rochester Wilmot Cancer Institute Thoracic/Head and Neck- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Great opportunity to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in providing care to oncology patients in the Wilmot Cancer Institute, with a specific focus providing care to patients with thoracic/ head and neck malignancies. Responsibilities include direct patient care including evaluation and management of acute illness and chronic symptom management, follow-up, coordination of services, and family education. Will be working closely with the thoracic / head and neck medical oncology team and involvement in clinical trial accrual. Excellent communication skills with proven ability in exercising independent judgment and initiative. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training. Must be NYS eligible for NP/PA certification.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $44.71 - $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
