Description of Duties

This position manages a traffic safety education grant administered by the Department of Public Safety. Employees of this class promote traffic safety through the development and dissemination of educational programs throughout the community. Work is performed in close cooperation with school administrators and representatives from community organizations in the scheduling and evaluation of programs. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a high-level staff member. General supervision is exercised over subordinate staff. Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

(A) Six (6) years of paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent experience in the following areas: the development, dissemination, preparation and/or presentation of instructional materials or activities for an educational institution, government agency or private industry; OR the conduct of personnel relations activities, such as training or interviewing, for an educational institution, government agency or private industry; OR, (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree, plus four (4) years of paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR, (C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A); OR, (D) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as described in (A), (B) and (C) above.
